Review highlights
Based on 726 reviewsPunjabi Dhaba is widely recognized for delivering authentic Indian flavors in an unexpected roadside setting near Wendover, Utah. Reviewers consistently praise the quality and taste of dishes such as samosas, butter chicken, goat curry, and aromatic rice, highlighting the food's richness and satisfying flavors. The establishment's rustic, no-frills ambiance—located within a gas station—receives mixed feedback, with some noting its simplicity and cleanliness concerns but often emphasizing that the food outweighs these drawbacks. Service is functional but can be hindered by language barriers, making communication occasionally challenging. The convenience of its 24-hour operation and quick service is frequently appreciated, making Punjabi Dhaba a popular stop for travelers seeking authentic Indian cuisine despite the unconventional location and basic atmosphere.
This is an Indian ‘Dhaba’ ( roadside rustic place mostly meant for truckers) style rustic place inside a gas station, near to the salt flats, roughly 2 hours away from Salt a lake city. We never ever expected such a place to exist almost in the middle of nowhere. There is a mini grocery as well. We had our evening tea and samosa here. The tea was very thick ( made with milk, without any water I guess). And the portion size was enormous. The Samosa was hot and fresh, and very tasty. I wish we could eat the dinner there. Next time I’m planning to return here in salt flats so as to eat lunch/ dinner at this place. They sell some house made sweets/ desserts too. I don’t know why their rating is not high, but this place is a hidden gem. Make sure to given them a try.
Chicken curry and rice, hint of spice. Very aromatic and filling. I only waited a few minutes for my food, i got in and got out. If you like Indian food give them a try
Fantastic Indian food in the middle of freaking nowhere. The veg samosa was to die for, as was the goat curry. That's all we ordered for lunch for the two of us and it was only 20. Try to overlook it being in a gas station, kind of dingy, and maybe not really very clean. Get takeaway and go there for the food. You will not be disappointed.
Small place, didn't look promising at first. Guys working here didn't speak much English so my sister had a hard time asking what's vegan on the menu. The food was amazing! Specifically the butter chicken and naan. Also got a strawberry milk drink that was nice. Definitely would recommend!
Found this place out of expectation. I wouldn't have imagined finding an Indian restaurant here and surprisingly the food was great. Not the best of ambience but the taste was good. It lies right on the exit of the speedway. It is open 24 hours.
If you’re a fan of Indian Punjabi cuisine, this food truck stop is a must-visit! The parathas here are to die for—crispy, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The samosas, especially with their authentic Punjabi filling, are the perfect snack to enjoy on the go. It’s like a taste of home for those who know and love this cuisine. Perfect for those bougie foodies looking for a casual yet delightful dining experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
Amazing food. Enough said. Probably one of the most authentic Indian meals I’ve had in Utah. Unfortunately didn’t get pictures of the food- but the butter chicken and chicken biryani were both amazing!
